Northland Furniture Company Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Northland Furniture Company proudly celebrates our 40th anniversary in 2016. Throughout the year we will be taking a look back at our history as a commercial furniture manufacturer in Bend, Oregon. Additionally, we’ll be looking at recently completed projects and looking forward into the future of Northland Furniture Company.

History of Northland Furniture Company

Northland Furniture Company started manufacturing commercial furniture for the hospitality industry, senior living communities and dormitories in 1976. Back then our facility was located in the Old Mill District, back when it was actually a timber production mill. The Old Mill has a rich history, being home at one point in time to two of the largest pine sawmills in the world. In the beginning, Northland sourced much of the wood material for our furniture from the old Brooks-Scanlon mill before it closed in 1983.

In 1976, a group of local craftsmen formed Northland Furniture Company. Bend was the ideal place to launch such a venture due to the timber tradition that flowed from our surrounding forests. When Northland started production, their mission, which still stands today, was to construct high-quality casegoods and hospitality furniture for hotels and resorts. Northland’s reputation for service and quality grew and so did our market – expanding from Oregon all the way across the United States.

40 years ago when Northland started, we had the vision of bringing Pacific Northwest craftsmanship to the entire nation. We wanted to not only create quality furniture but also creating living wage jobs that support our local community. 40 years later, we’re pleased to say that we’ve done just that and can’t wait to continue doing so well into the future.

Join us in celebrating 40 spectacular years of quality furniture, community support, and positive environmental impact. Northland Furniture Company – 40 years and counting.
